I returned to Tokyo for New Years and a few days more of exploring. I hit the Tokyo Tower, teamLabs Planets, Meiji Jingu, restaurants and just roamed around – my favorite part of solo travel. The full gallery of photos and videos is here.
New Years Eve in Shinjuku Kabukicho was a pretty interesting, jammed with even more people, drunk Australians, and a show for the count down. The Band ATARASHII GAKKO! did a 3 song show at Tokyu Kabukicho Tower, they were actually pretty awesome.
Paid a visit to Tokyo Tower, interesting structure with a great view of Tokyo. I took the elevator up to the viewing platform but then learned of the stairs, so I took those down. I recommend the stairs, its a great view and you can hear the city.
I walked down to Meiji Jingu after new years, it was packed with thousands of visitors entering the temple. They were letting people in a hundred plus at a time to the shrine, people were throwing money from a distance into the Dana Box.
My final days I toured around Shenjuku and surrounding areas enjoying the city. Japan is the place for me, I loved it, the people, culture and lifestyle. I will return.
